How to Change Address on a FedEx Shipping Label
FedEx does not allow direct editing of a shipping label once it has been created. If the label hasn't been dropped off or picked up yet, the fastest fix is to void the original label in FedEx Ship Manager and create a new one with the correct address — postage refunds within 7–14 days. For packages already in the FedEx network, FedEx Delivery Manager allows address changes for a fee, subject to service availability.
Step-by-step
- 1
Before pickup: void and re-create the label
Log into fedex.com → Ship → Ship History. Find the label with the wrong address. Click Cancel/Void Shipment and confirm. Once voided, create a new shipment with the correct address. The original postage will be refunded within 7–14 business days.
- 2
After pickup, before delivery: FedEx Delivery Manager
Go to fedex.com/apps/fedextrack and look up the tracking number. If FedEx Delivery Manager is available for this shipment, you'll see a 'Manage Delivery' option. Choose 'Edit Delivery Address.' A fee (~$15–$20) applies depending on the service.
- 3
Call FedEx Customer Service if Delivery Manager doesn't work
Call 1-800-463-3339. Have the tracking number ready. An agent can submit an address correction request if the package is at a FedEx facility and hasn't been loaded onto a delivery truck. No guarantee — depends on where the package is in the network.
- 4
Package at wrong address: contact the recipient
If the package delivered to the wrong address, contact FedEx to initiate a package pickup from the wrong address and re-delivery to the correct one. FedEx may charge a return and re-delivery fee. Report the issue quickly — packages are not held at wrong addresses indefinitely.
Good to know
- •FedEx Express address corrections typically have a shorter change window than FedEx Ground — submit as early as possible.
- •Not all FedEx services support mid-transit address changes. FedEx Home Delivery and Ground have wider Delivery Manager availability than Express.
- •Address changes to a different city or ZIP code may result in additional postage being charged if the new address falls in a different zone.
