We collect information you provide directly when using ShippingLabel, including:
- Account information: name, email address, and password when you create an account. - Label data: sender and recipient addresses, package details, and carrier preferences you enter when creating labels. For signed-in users, a minimal log of each generated label (recipient name, city, country, label size, carrier format, timestamp) is stored in your account so you can see your label history and so we can show accurate usage. This log is never shared and is deleted when you delete your account. - Anonymous label counts: when a label is generated without an account, we record only the label size, carrier format, destination country code, and timestamp. No names, addresses, or reference numbers are included in this count. - Feedback: if you choose to rate a label after downloading it, we store the star rating and any comment you write, linked to your account only if you are signed in. - Payment information: billing details processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers. - Usage data: pages visited, features used, label formats selected, and other interactions with the Service. - Device and browser information: IP address, browser type, operating system, and device identifiers collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the Service, including generating shipping labels based on the data you input. - Process payments and manage your subscription. - Send transactional communications such as account confirmations, billing receipts, and service updates. - Improve the Service through usage analytics and feature development. - Respond to your support requests and inquiries. - Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your address data for marketing purposes unrelated to the Service.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may collect or process your data:
- Stripe: payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy governs how they handle your payment information. - Google Analytics (provided by Google LLC): records the pages you visit, how you use features, your device and browser type, and your approximate location based on your IP address. It uses cookies to recognize repeat visits. When you use a feature, we may record that it happened along with basic settings — for example, that a label was generated and its size and carrier format. We never send label addresses, names, or reference numbers to Google Analytics. - Purchases in Google Analytics: when you buy a plan or a label, we send Google Analytics a purchase record — an order reference, the amount, the currency, and the plan type — linked to the visit that led to it. This lets us see which pages bring paying customers. We never send card details, your name, your email address, or any shipping address. The purchase record is marked so Google should not use it for personalized ads. - Ahrefs Web Analytics: counts page visits and the websites that referred you, so we can understand our traffic.
You can opt out of Google Analytics on all websites by installing Google's opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or by blocking cookies in your browser. Google's privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
We require all third-party service providers to handle your data in accordance with applicable privacy laws. We do not share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Label data associated with your account is retained for your convenience and can be deleted at your request. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it for longer. Anonymized, aggregated data that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely for analytics and service improvement.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
