Poshmark Shipping Label Maker — Free for Closets

Poshmark provides prepaid USPS Priority Mail labels for sales made on their platform, but there are times you need additional labels — for returns, for bundles that need re-labeling, or for cross-listed items sold through other channels. Our label maker creates USPS-compatible labels perfect for Poshmark sellers. Select Priority Mail as your service type (Poshmark's default carrier), mark your package details, and print a clean label. Great for Poshmark sellers who also sell on other platforms and need a unified label solution.

Tips for Poshmark Sellers

  • Poshmark uses USPS Priority Mail — select that service type for matching format
  • Use our tool for cross-listed items sold outside of Poshmark where you need your own label
  • Add your Poshmark closet name in the Company field for branding

Who this is for

  • Poshmark sellers who also cross-list on Mercari, Depop, or eBay and need a label when selling off-platform
  • Sellers handling Poshmark returns who need a new label outside of Poshmark's provided one
  • Bundle sellers re-packaging multiple Posh orders into one shipment and needing a fresh Priority Mail label
  • Closet Assistant / reseller tools users who want consistent label formatting across platforms

When this isn’t the right tool

  • Casual Poshmark sellers whose sales always ship via Poshmark's built-in prepaid Priority Mail label — just use that
  • Sellers needing Poshmark's seller protection — only the Poshmark-issued label includes it

Add your Poshmark closet name in the Company field for a branded return address.

Peel, stick, and drop at USPS or schedule a free pickup.

  5. 5

Purchase USPS Priority Mail postage via Pirate Ship or USPS Click-N-Ship and match the tracking number.

PoshPost: how the prepaid label system works

Poshmark is unusual among marketplaces because sellers never buy postage at all. The moment a sale goes through, Poshmark emails you a prepaid USPS Priority Mail label — the buyer paid the flat shipping fee at checkout, Poshmark bought the postage, and your entire job is print, stick, and hand to USPS. No rate shopping, no weighing at the counter, no postage account.

That simplicity is why the label rules are strict: the prepaid label is generated for that specific order, it's Priority Mail regardless of what you're sending, and it's the only label that keeps you inside Poshmark's seller protection. The trade-off is flexibility — you can't choose a cheaper service for a 4-ounce silk scarf, and you can't use the label for anything except that order.

The 5-pound line: when you need a label upgrade

The standard PoshPost label covers packages up to 5 pounds. Sell something heavier — winter coats, boots, a bundle of denim — and you need to upgrade the label from inside the order before shipping: open the order, choose 'Need Heavier Weight Label', select the weight tier, and Poshmark issues a new label with the upgrade cost deducted from your earnings.

Shipping a 7-pound package on an un-upgraded 5-pound label is the classic new-seller mistake. USPS catches the discrepancy, the package gets held or returned with postage due, the buyer's delivery window blows out, and you're now paying the upgrade anyway — plus goodwill. A cheap kitchen scale next to your packing station pays for itself the first time it stops one of these.

⚠️ Weigh the finished package — garment, box, tissue paper, thank-you card, everything. Poshmark's weight tiers apply to the package as shipped, not the item as listed.

Bundles ship as one order, one label

When a buyer bundles three listings from your closet into one purchase, Poshmark treats it as a single order with a single prepaid label — you pack all three items together, and the buyer paid one shipping fee. Bundles are where the 5-pound limit gets tested most often, so check the combined weight before you print rather than after you've taped the box.

If a buyer accidentally purchases items separately instead of bundling, each order has its own label and must ship in its own package. Combining two separate orders into one box under one label leaves the second order permanently unscanned — to Poshmark it looks unshipped, the buyer can't confirm receipt, and your earnings for it stay locked.

Box rules: what you can and can't ship in

Because PoshPost rides on USPS Priority Mail, you can use free USPS Priority Mail boxes and padded envelopes from the post office — that's a real cost saver most new Poshmark sellers don't know about. What you can't use: Priority Mail Express boxes, Regional Rate boxes, or any flat-rate-branded packaging with the prepaid label, since the postage class won't match the box.

Plain unbranded boxes and poly mailers are always fine. For clothing, a poly mailer keeps weight down and slides under the 5-pound line more easily; for shoes and anything structured, a box protects the item's shape — and the buyer's five-star rating.

Where a standalone label maker fits a Poshmark closet

For the Poshmark sale itself, the answer is simple: use their label, every time. This tool earns its place at the edges of a reseller's week — the same item cross-listed on Mercari or eBay sells there instead, a local buyer wants it shipped after a meetup falls through, or you're returning inventory to a consignor. Those shipments need a properly formatted address label with your closet's branding in the return address, and Poshmark can't generate one for an off-platform transaction.

Resellers running closets across several apps tend to standardize on 4×6 thermal for everything — Poshmark's prepaid labels, Mercari's, and this tool's output all print to the same stock, so one printer covers the whole operation.

Limitations & caveats

  • This does NOT replace the prepaid Priority Mail label Poshmark provides for sales on their platform — always use Poshmark's label for Poshmark sales or you'll lose seller protection.
  • We don't buy USPS postage. Poshmark's $7.97 flat-rate shipping fee only applies through Poshmark's own label.
  • No tracking auto-upload to Poshmark — this tool is for off-Posh shipments.
