How to Void a USPS Shipping Label (and Get a Refund)
You can void a USPS shipping label and get a postage refund if the label hasn't been scanned yet. Voiding is usually free but not automatic — you have to request it within the 30-day window from purchase.
Step-by-step
- 1
Go to Click-N-Ship (or source platform)
If you bought via USPS.com, sign in and go to Shipping History. If via eBay/Etsy, use their label management interface.
- 2
Select the label
Find the unused label. Labels marked 'Used' (already scanned) cannot be voided — only unused labels qualify.
- 3
Click Refund Request
Select 'Refund' or 'Void and Refund'. Confirm you want to void the label.
- 4
Wait for approval
USPS reviews refund requests within 10-14 business days. If approved, postage refunds to your original payment method.
Good to know
- •Refund window: 30 days from label purchase. After that, no refund possible.
- •Already-scanned labels cannot be voided. If you scanned and changed your mind, you must let the package travel or have it returned.
- •Some third-party tools auto-refund unused labels after a specific window (e.g. Pirate Ship auto-refunds after 30 days).
