How to Void a UPS Shipping Label
UPS allows label voiding within 90 days of purchase — a much longer window than USPS. Void and refund is self-service via ups.com or WorldShip.
Step-by-step
- 1
Log into ups.com
Sign in and navigate to Shipping → History → My Recent Shipments. If the label was bought through a platform (ShipStation, Pirate Ship, a marketplace), void it inside that platform instead — the platform holds the postage relationship, and ups.com can't refund a label it didn't sell you.
- 2
Select the label
Find the unused label. UPS lets you void within 90 days of purchase date — the most generous void window of the major carriers. If the label doesn't appear, check which UPS login created it; shipments only show under the account that generated them.
- 3
Click Void / Cancel
Select 'Void Shipment'. UPS confirms the void. Postage refunds to your account on the next billing cycle. The voided tracking number goes dead immediately — destroy the printed label so it can't end up on a live box.
- 4
Confirm the credit on your invoice
For account billing, the void appears as a credit on the next cycle. If a voided label still shows as charged after two billing cycles, open a billing inquiry with the tracking number — voids occasionally need a manual nudge.
