How to Reprint a Shipping Label on eBay (Every Scenario Covered)

ShippingLabel Editorial Team··6 min read

Something went wrong with your eBay shipping label. Maybe the printer smeared it. Maybe you closed the tab before it loaded. Maybe you printed it at the wrong size and the barcode got cut off. Maybe the label just disappeared into a pile and you found the package two days later.

It happens to everyone who sells on eBay. Here's exactly how to get a clean label back, depending on what went wrong.

The Most Common Way: Reprint from eBay Seller Hub

If your label was purchased through eBay and it's been less than 30 days, you can reprint it directly from Seller Hub. This is the fastest path and works in most cases.

  1. Go to eBay Seller Hub (seller.ebay.com) and log in.
  2. Click Orders in the top navigation.
  3. Find the order. You can use the search bar if it's buried — search by item title or buyer username.
  4. Once you've found the order, look for the “Print shipping label” option. On paid labels, this typically shows as “Reprint label”or you'll see the label icon next to the order.
  5. Click it. The label PDF opens in a new tab. Print it.

You're not being charged twice. Reprinting the same label is free — it's the same tracking number, same label, just printed again.

⚠️ One important thing

Reprinting generates the same tracking number. That's correct and expected. Don't create a new label for the same order — the buyer's tracking would break and you'd be paying twice.

If You Can't Find the Reprint Option in Seller Hub

eBay's UI shifts around occasionally, and some sellers get confused when they don't see a clear “Reprint” button. A few things to try:

  • Look for a three-dot menu (…) or “More actions” next to the order — reprint is often tucked in there.
  • Try My eBay → Selling → Sold (the classic view) instead of Seller Hub. Find your order, click on it, and look for the label link in the order detail page.
  • Check your email. When eBay processes a label purchase, they send you a confirmation email with a PDF attachment or a link to download the label. Check your inbox for the order confirmation.

What If the Label Is Expired?

eBay shipping labels purchased through Seller Hub are typically valid for 28 days. If you're past that window — or if the label was voided — you won't be able to reprint it. You'll need to purchase a new one.

Here's the thing about expired labels that a lot of people don't realize:

  • If you voided the label (intentionally or accidentally), you should receive a refund from eBay within 2–3 business days. Check your Payments section.
  • If the label expired unused, eBay should automatically refund it. If they haven't, open a shipping label refund request through Seller Hub → Payments → Shipping labels.
  • Once you get the refund (or if you're willing to pay again), create a new label for the order from Seller Hub as normal. Same process as the original.

Reprinting Through the Carrier's Website

If the label was purchased through USPS Click-N-Ship, UPS.com, or FedEx.com (not through eBay), you'll find it in your account on those sites.

  • USPS Click-N-Ship:Log in at tools.usps.com/ship-a-package.htm → click “Label History” → find your shipment → click “Reprint.” Available for up to 72 hours before the shipment date.
  • UPS:Log in at ups.com → Shipping History → find your shipment → “View/Print Label.” Available for 90 days.
  • FedEx:Log in at fedex.com → Shipping History → select shipment → “Reprint Label.” Available for 90 days.

If you used a third-party shipping tool like Pirate Ship or ShipStation, log into that platform instead — they all have a label history page where you can reprint.

What If You Used a Third-Party Label Tool?

If you created your eBay label through a third-party tool (not eBay Seller Hub itself), go back to that tool's dashboard. Every service that sells labels keeps a history. Look for “Shipments,” “Label History,” or “Past Orders” in the navigation.

If you created a label here on ShippingLabel, check your account dashboard → Saved Labels. Your labels are stored and printable any time within the validity window.

If you were using the free tool without an account, unfortunately there's no history to pull from — you'd need to create a new label. This is actually one of the real reasons to create an account — label history is saved, and reprinting is one click.

The Label Printed Cropped or at the Wrong Size

This is frustrating because it feels like you wasted a label — but you usually didn't. The label itself is still valid. You just need to print it correctly.

Common causes and fixes:

  • Label printed too small on letter paper: Open the PDF, go to Print settings, and set the scale to 100% (actual size)— not “Fit to page.” Fit-to-page shrinks the label and can make barcodes unscannable.
  • Barcode cut off on thermal printer:The printer likely has the wrong label size set. Go into your printer settings and confirm the label size is set to 4×6 inches (or 4×6 in the driver). Also check the label gap sensor — some printers lose calibration and need to be reset.
  • Label printed rotated: Thermal printers sometimes print landscape when you need portrait or vice versa. In your printer driver, check the orientation setting and match it to how your labels feed (short edge first vs long edge first).

Once you fix the settings, reprint from Seller Hub as described above. The label is still valid — reprinting doesn't void it.

The Label Got Wet or Damaged Before You Could Use It

If you're using a thermal printer, the labels can smear from moisture or heat before they're applied to a package. If a label is unreadable when you scan it — or you just can't trust the barcode — reprint it from Seller Hub.

The original is still valid (you haven't shipped anything against it), so just print a fresh one and use that. If you accidentally ship a package with a damaged or unreadable barcode, call USPS/UPS/FedEx with the tracking number immediately — they can sometimes link it manually, but it's a headache best avoided.

Reprinting Shipping Labels on Other Platforms

The same issue comes up across every selling platform. Here’s where to find the reprint option on the other major marketplaces:

  • Poshmark: Go to the Poshmark app → My Sales → tap the order → “View Label.” The label opens as a PDF. Poshmark labels are pre-paid USPS Priority Mail — you can reprint as many times as needed within the validity window (usually 7 days after purchase).
  • Etsy: Go to Etsy.com/your/orders → find the order → click “Print shipping label.” Etsy stores your label PDF and lets you reprint indefinitely. If the label expired (over 2 weeks old for USPS), you'll need to void and repurchase.
  • Amazon Seller Central: Go to Manage Orders → find the order → click on the Order ID → “Print shipping label.” For FBA shipments, find the box labels in your Shipment plans. Amazon label reprints are available for 90 days.
  • Mercari:Go to the order details page in the app → scroll to “Shipping label” → tap to view or download the PDF. Mercari pre-paid labels can be reprinted until the package is scanned into the carrier system.
  • Depop:Open the order in the Depop app → tap “View label” in the order details. The label PDF is downloadable and printable at any time before the shipment deadline.

One Thing That Makes This Way Less Stressful

If you ship on eBay regularly, setting up a consistent label workflow makes these moments much calmer. Keep your shipping history accessible, use a tool that saves your labels, and if you're using a thermal printer, make sure the settings are locked in correctly once so you're not troubleshooting print size every other week.
